A psychologically informed app for women with ADHD, designed to complement assessment, therapy, coaching, medical care and university support.
Created by Dr Deirdre Ryan, Clinical Psychologist, founder of Rithim and Director of Koa Psychology.
Rithim was developed for those everyday in-between moments.
Reinforces psychologically informed approaches between appointments or student-support meetings.
Helps women notice patterns in capacity, emotions and executive functioning.
Encourages self-compassion rather than simply increasing productivity.
Offers practical strategies in the moments difficulties actually arise.
Rithim can help women notice patterns that lead to richer clinical conversations about:
What drains my capacity?
What triggers my threat system?
When does self-criticism escalate?
What genuinely helps me regulate?
What patterns emerge around hormonal change?
Which strategies actually work for me?
Rithim is not a clinician monitoring platform.
Women remain in control of their own information and what they choose to bring into their clinical work.
"What is happening for me right now, what capacity do I actually have, and what might help?"
Rithim is strongly influenced by Compassion Focused Therapy and helps women move through:
Recognising what may be influencing capacity, attention, emotion or overwhelm.
Reducing shame and self-criticism and responding to difficulty with understanding rather than judgement.
Choosing a realistic next step that reflects the capacity available today.
Attention, emotional regulation and capacity may feel different alongside hormonal fluctuations and changing stages of life.
Rithim helps women begin noticing their own patterns across areas such as:
Rithim helps women notice and understand their own patterns. It does not diagnose, treat or make medical claims.
Dr Deirdre Ryan is a Clinical Psychologist with almost twenty years of experience across Australia and Ireland, and runs Koa Psychology, a neurodevelopmental assessment clinic in Blessington, Co. Wicklow. Dee also has ADHD herself.
Through assessment work she saw women experience enormous relief at diagnosis, then face the much longer process of understanding what ADHD meant in everyday life. Rithim was created to support that space.
